Who is Alev Leventoğlu?

Born in İskenderun in 1971, he completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Ankara. He then enrolled in the Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, graduating in 1994, and subsequently fulfilled his mandatory public service requirement.

Between 1997 and 2002, he completed his residency in the Department of Neurology at the Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, becoming a neurologist. He attained the academic rank of Associate Professor in 2010 and Professor in 2015.

Between 2007 and 2022, she worked at the Ufuk University Faculty of Medicine. In addition to her role in the Department of Neurology, she served as Deputy Chief Physician (2007–2010), Director of the School of Nursing (2011–2018), and Chair of the Department of Neurology (2013–2022). She also founded the Electroneurophysiology Technician program—which began its educational activities in 2014—and served as the faculty member in charge, contributing significantly to the training of numerous neurologists, physicians, nurses, and technicians.

In 2013, she completed the Health Institutions Management program at Anadolu University.

She has authored numerous articles and book chapters, both domestically and internationally, which have received a significant number of citations.

She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the European Federation of Neurological Societies, and the Turkish Neurological Society, where she participates in the working groups for Multiple Sclerosis, Neuromuscular Diseases, and Clinical Neurophysiology (EEG-EMG).

Holding a subspecialty certification in Clinical Neurophysiology, Dr. Leventoğlu is actively involved in the Turkish Clinical Neurophysiology EEG-EMG Society. Furthermore, she serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Ankara Branch of the Turkish Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society.

She is married and a mother of two. Roles in Projects:
